Kim Polland

Kim Polland obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. She decided to write while battling health issues of her own, eventually moving to Tampa with her family. I Never Thought It Could Have Happened is her first novel.

Josephine Hubbard

A native of Tampa, Josephine earned a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education from Florida A&M University and a M.S. Degree in Guidance Counseling from The University of South Florida. She retired as the MacDill Air Force Base Family Support Center Director in 1998, and founded Hubbard Family Ministries, Inc. in 2000 and The Prayer Line of Deborah in 2006. A Licensed Minister, she is married to Rev. Ron Hubbard; together they are the proud parents of two adults, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Jamie Elizabeth Tingen

Jamie Elizabeth Tingen won the women’s fiction Five Star Reader’s Favorite Award in with her first novel, Butterfly Messages. She was a finalist for the regional fiction National Indie Excellence Award and the 2012 USA Best Book Awards in the women’s literary category. She was a winner in the 2016 Great Southeast Book Festival for the sequel, Betrayed by a Butterfly. A member of the Florida Writers Association, Jamie grew up in Ashland, South Carolina, and lives in Tampa.

Rosemary Yvonne Borel

Rosemary Yvonne Borel grew up in Jamaica. She graduated from university in England and worked in the diplomatic field in New York and London. A long-time resident of the Tampa Bay area, Rosemary is retired and actively volunteers at her church and at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts.

Mary Adele

Local author Mary Adele Cluck recently published Princess Alana and Her Magic Dolphin, the first in the Princess series of fairy tale adventures. The story of a lonely Princess and an unusual best friend, the book is illustrated by Amber Olson and published by JoHazel Publishing.

The purpose of the local author collection is to support and encourage content creation, entrepreneurial achievement, and community prosperity, and to encourage local authors to meet and share their work and experiences.

Submissions are welcome from local authors that reside in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sarasota, Manatee or Polk County).

Be sure to take a look at the self-publishing resources in the library collection.

Print Book Submissions

  • Authors must submit a physical copy of their book for review along with an Local Author Submission form.
  • Please see the form for guidelines and more information about the process.

eBook Submissions

The following items are required for all local author e-book submissions:

  • A signed copy of the Supplier Agreement
  • A completed Author Worksheet
  • Two versions of your work's cover image (one full-size and one thumbnail)
  • A digital copy of the book itself, in EPUB or PDF format
