June Lyew Baucom

June Lyew Baucom is a preschool teacher who resides in Lithia, Florida. As an educator she has an interest in children’s literature that empowers. She combined her passion for photography with her daily experiences in the classroom to create her first book, I Can Do It! Building Confidence in Toddlers. June specializes in child photography.

Jerome Levy

Jerome Levy grew up in Austin, Texas, where his father was on the faculty at UT. He attended both undergraduate and law school at UT, earning a JD degree in 1966. After an active law practice for the next twenty-five years, Jerome took an entirely different career path. He became a full-time attorney-mediator in 1992 and published his first book three years later. In 2012 he and his wife moved to Sun City Center, Florida. In February of 2016 he published his most recent work, An Extremely Uncivil War, which is loosely based upon the life Joshua Quark, a farmer from Indiana.

Pamala McCoy

Pamala L. McCoy was born in Goldsboro, NC, the youngest of four children. She is CEO of BONA5D Credit Consultants, LLC. Pamala received her BA-Business Management with a concentration in Economics from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 1989. Her career in the credit industry spans over 25 years. Pamala’s professional success in the workforce uniquely prepared her for her passion which is being fulfilled via BONA5DCC, established in 2008. The mission: Educate. Empower. Evolve. Enlighten. Enrich.

Rodney Wetzel

Though Rodney Wetzel majored in education, he spent most of his adult life working with the disabled population in the field of vocational rehabilitation. In 1995 he was involved in a near-fatal car accident and, as a form of self-rehabilitation, Rodney started working on his first novel. Today, Rodney and his wife of 27 years reside outside of Tampa, Florida, where he is currently working on a number of writing projects, including the sequel to Fritz.

Deborah Ailman

Deborah Ailman has lived in the Tampa Bay area with her husband since 1989. Filters is her first novel. Deborah is an avid animal lover and is "mom" to eight cats and one very noisy bird.

For Local Writers

The purpose of the local author collection is to support and encourage content creation, entrepreneurial achievement, and community prosperity, and to encourage local authors to meet and share their work and experiences.

Submissions are welcome from local authors that reside in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sarasota, Manatee or Polk County).

Be sure to take a look at the self-publishing resources in the library collection.

Print Book Submissions

  • Authors must submit a physical copy of their book for review along with an Local Author Submission form.
  • Please see the form for guidelines and more information about the process.

eBook Submissions

The following items are required for all local author e-book submissions:

  • A signed copy of the Supplier Agreement
  • A completed Author Worksheet
  • Two versions of your work's cover image (one full-size and one thumbnail)
  • A digital copy of the book itself, in EPUB or PDF format
