The 25,000 square foot Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, a gift from the Winn-Dixie Foundation, opened February 14, 2001 and serves the Carrollwood and Northdale communities as well as being the regional library for the Northwest area of Hillsborough County.
|

Open seven days a week, the library provides a comprehensive collection and a wide variety of programs and services. A large community room and four smaller conference rooms accommodate programs, meetings, quiet study and literacy tutoring. The library contains a computer lab used for computer classes as well as for public use. A drive through window provides convenient checkout and return of library materials.

Friends of the Library

|
The Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library has an active Friends of the Library group which runs The Carousel Book Store in the library's lobby. The proceeds from sales directly benefit the branch. The Friends fund many special programs at the library and have purchased seven life size carousel animals by artist Cindy Niemi Seifert to decorate the children's area.

The Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library is named in honor of Jimmie B. Keel, former Assistant County Administrator, in recognition of his 35 years of passionate, caring service to Hillsborough County.

Public Art

The Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library is enhanced by an art installation consisting of 17 paintings by local folk artist Mr. B (Jack Beverland) that illustrate a poem entitled "Song of Hillsborough" written by James E. Tokley, Sr.
