Bookmobile History . . .
During the Depression, Works Projects Administration funds made bookmobile service possible. Here library customers select books at Ragan Park in Tampa on July 17, 1939.
In the 1950's, the bookmobile was known as the "Traveling Branch" and was quite popular among its users.
During the 60's, the bookmobile served as a mobile neighboorhood branch while library locations were being built or remodeled. Pictured here is the the bookmobile as it was known as the Riverview Station.

. . . the tradition and service continues . . .
The bookmobile today is a state-of-the-art facility that offers most of the services expected at a branch library.
