Cartooning Workshop. Join special guest artist Tim Gibbons in this hands on art class to learn some essentials of cartooning.

Chalk Art Contest and Free Draw. Prizes will be awarded for Best Young Artist (Youth Age 0-13) and Best Adult Artist (Age 14+). Free draw and art contest sections will be marked out on the patio. Contest will end at 3:00 pm with winners announced before the Cosplay Contest at 4:00 pm. Run by Chalk Art Association.

Magic: The Gathering Tournament.

Magic: The Gathering Core Set Bundle. Rules:

Children's Costume Parade / Red Carpet Event. Participants will have the opportunity to strut their stuff in front of the cameras on the red carpet and around the library in a parade led by our Master of Ceremonies. All participants will receive a custom LibCon medal.

1 p.m. - 2 p.m.

Creative Cosplay: Monster Book of Monsters. Make a vicious textbook to store all your magical treasures, inspired by Harry Potter.

1 p.m - 3 p.m.

Fortnite Gaming Tournament. Registration is day of convention. Tournament will be facilitated by Mobile Gaming Revolution’s gaming truck.

Cosplay Panel. Talk about the art of Cosplay with some of our featured Cosplay Guests! Learn tips and techniques on everything from sewing costumes, prop making, creating original characters, getting into character, taking the perfect photo, and using your Cosplay talents for charity. Special guests include PikaBelleChu, Jackie Sonnenberg, Blue Crystal Cosplay, Emazing Studios, and Costumers with a Cause.

3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Symphonic Pheenix Force. Enjoy music by this indie nerdcore hip-hop band. Music is inspired by comics, anime, and video games.

4 p.m.

Teen/Adult Cosplay Contest. Show us what you got! Display your craftsmanship and showmanship in the LibCon Cosplay Contest. For teens and adults ages 14 and up.

The 501st Legion is an all-volunteer organization formed for the express purpose of bringing together costume enthusiasts under a collective identity within which to operate. The Legion seeks to promote interest in Star Wars through the building and wearing of quality costumes, and to facilitate the use of these costumes for Star Wars-related events as well as contributions to the local community through costumed charity and volunteer work.

Blue Crystal Cosplay is a self-taught, plus sized model and cosplay designer from the Tampa Bay area; she has won several awards for her costumes including Best Costume - Tampa Anime Day 2016, Best Original Design - Clearwater Comic Con 2017, Second Place Overall - Clearwater Comic Con 2018, and Best Likeness - Metrocon 2018. Starting in 2007 she has been cosplaying for over a decade. The first cosplay she made by hand was Eevee from Pokemon (made in 2009) and now she completely makes her own cosplays and runs her own business making cosplay and plushies commissions.

We do this with visits to children in the hospitals, visiting children who are at home suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses, and by supporting various non-profits, organizations, and foundations!

Holland King - Chalk Art Association

Holland King’s love for drawing began at the age of 12 when he was introduced to comic books and he was forever changed deciding he wanted to be an illustrator. Holland studied illustration at the San Francisco Academy of Art. After an enlistment in the Army, he settled in Tampa, Florida where he finally started to draw comics for different independent publishers; chalk, acrylics, and watercolor are the mediums he uses most often. His first chalk festival was the Clearwater Chalk Festival of 2015 and has been working as a freelance artist ever since. His chalk art was featured in Restaurant Monthly Magazine and on Charlie Belcher's local news program.

Jackie Sonnenberg

Jackie Sonnenberg is both a horror author and actor and has found fun ways to merge these two things together by her involvement in the haunted house industry for ten years. So far Jackie has created costumes for the first two books in this collection (My Soul to Keep and The Lamb Was Sure to Go) as well as others for anthology collections, and has won costume contests.

Lunar Sapphire Arts

Lluhnar Dragon (Samantha Williams) is a self-taught artist who is striving to be notice in the art world. She started Lunar Sapphire Studio and headed to conventions to show her art to the world. Such conventions include, but are not limited to, MegaCon, LibCon, Megaplex, OmniExpo, and Florida Anime Experience. She works traditionally, but primarily digitally to create artworks from her favorite creature dragons to fan artworks.

Moony (Harloe Rifner) is an artist and avid cosplayer from Bradenton, Florida. She has been cosplaying for 11 years and is currently a Game Design Major at Ringling College of Art and Design. She specializes in mural painting and art of all medias including charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, and digital media.

PikaBelleChu is world known for her dedication and passion for Pokemon, having gained a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records back in 2008 for her famous collection of over 21,000 items of the electric mouse and still growing. Also a cosplayer she has over 80 costumes shes made and won many awards for her cosplays through the years, most known for her Pokemon Princess designs but has also cosplayed other characters from Anime, Disney, Movies and her own Original Designs. She has appeared in numerous magazines and appeared on tv several times for her love of Pokemon and collecting and will also be appearing on an upcoming new show on the history channel for her famous "Chuseum."

Ruskin Pro Gamers

Ruskin Pro Gamers brings people in the Ruskin area to play strategy games, Tabletop RPG's, and card games. They meet every month at the SouthShore Regional Library and is led by local gaming enthusiast, Fred Ferrante.

Stefani Deoul is the author of the award-winning YA Mystery ON A LARP, the first book in the Sid Rubin Silicon Alley Adventures. Along with being a School Library Journal “pick” for Pride, LARP has been listed in The Lesbian Review as one of the Top One Hundred Lesbian Books to start with. Book Two in the Sid Rubin Adventures, ZERO SUM GAME, will be released this November. As a television producer Stefani's resume includes series Haven, The Dead Zone, Brave New Girl, Dresden Files and Missing.

Symphonic Pheenix Force

Symphonic Pheenix Force (SPF) is fighting evil by moonlight and winning love by daylight. Based out of Tampa, SPF is an indie nerdcore hip-hop group and like to think of themselves as the hip hop version of Teen Titans. They deliver rhymes and beats inspired by comics, anime, and video games intertwined with witty punch lines. Symphonic Pheenix Force brings ecstatic energy to the stage and gives an outrageous atmosphere to the crowd.

Terralynn Lake has been a professional street painter since 2008. Terralynn Lake is currently from Winter Haven, FL and she began street painting in 2008. She is considered a self-taught artist, however many wonderful mentors throughout her life have influenced her work and skill.

Tim Gibbons

Tim Gibbons received his BA at the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL. He discovered the love of art at a very early age when he became mesmerized by early Mayan and Aztec art, which continues to be a theme in his paintings. His art is also influenced by science, sci-fi, history and politics. His media is pen and ink, acrylic, oil, mixed media, print work and sculpture. He has been exhibited locally in one-man gallery shows at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, TECO Public Art Gallery, Stageworks Theatre, Inkwood Books, Bamboozle Café, Bamboozle Tea Lounge, Kahwa Expresso at The Element, The Bunker and the Gasparilla Art Show.
