Gardening Workshops

Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative is excited to partner with two agricultural programs from the Hillsborough County Extension Service to bring in-depth Gardening Workshops to a library near you.

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) is the state of Florida’s premier Extension program that promotes sustainable alternatives to “conventional” landscaping, providing guidance on low-impact, environmentally friendly, science-based landscape practices that use less water and reduce pollutant loading to Florida waters. Workshops topics are offered by county employees of the extension office.

The Florida Master Gardener Program is an outreach program composed of UF/IFAS Extension certified volunteers who are trained to provide research-based horticultural education to Florida residents. Participants of the program must complete a 50-hour plus training course provided by the University of Florida and local county Extension office.
