HCPLC wants everyone to remain safe while exploring the internet, especially children and teens.
Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of library materials and electronic resources. In order to assist parents, the library offers internet safety training for youth. This program teaches how to safely navigate the internet and recognize dangers that may be encountered online.
Completion of this training program is required before anyone under 17 years of age may access the internet on library computers. This requirement will only be waived at the request of parents via a signed authorization form.
If this Internet Safety Training is completed on a library computer, keep the browser open at the completion certificate and ask a library staff member to view your certificate on the screen.
If this Internet Safety Training is completed at home, take a screenshot or print the certificate at the end of the training to share with library staff on your next visit.
