The library experienced flooding and roof damage due to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. This damage has caused delays to the original restoration project. We anticipate the library reopening Spring of 2026.
Update December 2025
- Tuckpointing and sealing is complete
- Installation of exterior door seals
- Damaged wall areas have been removed and the building has been fully remediated
- Cabling in building has begun
- 1st-floor AC duct wrap will take place after cabling is complete
- Shelving is scheduled for mid-December delivery
- Cabinets will follow along with ordering new furniture
- Bathroom tile in the staff restroom will be completed in December
- Public restroom remodels
- Replacing carpet upstairs
